John,
First: Ken Paxton came after Powered by People with bogus charges, hoping to silence this movement and shut us down with expensive legal costs.
Then: We won a major victory. The 15th Court of Appeals—every single one of the judges appointed by Greg Abbott—ruled unanimously that our First Amendment rights had been violated.
They restored our ability to speak, to organize, and to fundraise. Even Abbott’s own hand-picked judges couldn’t deny the truth: Paxton was wrong.
But let’s be clear—the fight against Paxton isn’t over. He’s still coming after us because he knows people power is the biggest threat to the political games he plays.
Now: Every goal we meet fuels our work—registering voters, meeting people face-to-face, hosting town halls, and building the grassroots power Texans need to win.
Next Tuesday is our end-of-quarter deadline, and if we’re going to keep up this work, we need to end this quarter strong.
Paxton wanted to stop us. Instead, he reminded us why this fight matters so much.
Thank you,
