John,
I hear from families every day who are feeling the pressure of
higher prices. Making New York more affordable is not just a goal —
it's a responsibility I take seriously.
From day one, I’ve focused on putting money back in people’s
pockets. This week, we’re delivering on that promise:
Inflation Refund checks are officially on the way to help ease
the burden of rising costs.
More than eight million New Yorkers will get an Inflation Refund
check of up to $400. Deliveries will continue through October and
November, and while some may receive theirs sooner, every eligible
household will get their check. No forms or signup required —
if you qualify, your check is on the way.
Whether it’s rent, child care,
prescriptions, or just getting behind on bills, I know how fast
expenses pile up. This money is meant to ease that burden. I
want to hear how it will help you and your family. Click
here to share how this money will make a difference in your
life.

As a young parent to two kids, I remember sitting at the kitchen
table, looking at the bills, and wondering how we’ll make it all work.
I’ve sat down with moms in diners and walked the grocery aisles with
seniors who’ve shared how rising prices are making everyday life
harder. That’s why I’m putting
nearly $5,000 back into the pockets of New Yorkers this
year, so you can buy the necessities with less stress,
raise your children with the support they need, and enjoy life without
constant worry.
From
expanding the Child Tax Credit, to a historic middle-class tax cut,
inflation refund checks, and free school meals, this is
relief you can feel. Your family is my fight, and that fight
continues every single day.
Ever Upward,
Gov. Kathy Hochul
