Hey y’all,

I know that almost every email you’ve gotten from me over the past week has been asking for donations, but that’s not why I’m reaching out today. I want to start by saying a huge thank you to all of you that contributed last month - we crushed our goal and posted our best fundraising quarter of the campaign! I’ll reach out with more details once FEC reports become public later this month.

Anyway, today I just want to fill you in on my thoughts regarding everything going on in our country right now.

First, if you didn’t see Dr. Fauci’s Senate hearing on Tuesday, he made some really important points about how seriously we need to be taking the COVID-19 pandemic right now. Any time you are in public, WEAR A MASK. Our children can’t afford to lose more time off of school, and we can’t count on a vaccine being ready any time soon. The best way to ensure children can resume learning this fall is to take COVID-19 seriously and wear a mask any time you’re in public.

Also, I’m still horrified by the news this week that Donald Trump knew Russia was placing bounties on the heads of US soldiers and failed to act. Trump is a threat to our country and to its people, and I can’t imagine how military families must be feeling right now. To William Timmons and his GOP colleagues: your silence is deafening. Now is the time to stand up for the American people and work for your constituents, not blindly obey Trump. It’s not going unnoticed, and we will vote you out this November.
