NEWS RELEASE September 27, 2025 CONTACT: Janelle Collins, Strategic Communications Director Governor Gordon Announces Wildfire Relief Webinar For Impacted Homeowners, Landowners, Business Owners and Non-profits GMO offers Free Live Wildfire Recovery Interactive Webinar October 8th CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The Wyoming Grant’s Management Office (GMO) will be hosting a free 90-minute Wildfire Recovery Webinar for landowners, homeowners, business owners and non-profits devastated by wildfires with federal and state partners on October 8 at 10 AM. The workshop will assist stakeholders to become knowledgeable about available relief, how to assess grants, make applications, and connect with federal and state agency experts. The interactive webinar includes an opportunity for participants to direct questions to state and federal grants experts. “The wildfire relief webinar provides essential information for anyone with property impacted by the fires here in Wyoming over these last few years,” Governor Gordon said. “It gives landowners, homeowners, and business owners an opportunity to explore potential funding options to help rebuild lost forage and infrastructure, learn what programs have been eliminated, those that remain, and some that are new. Owing to the change in administration at the federal level, we wanted to make sure property owners have access to the most up-to-date information.” The Governor emphasized funding opportunities are available with or without disaster relief designations. “Wyoming will benefit from a recovered landscape free of invasives. “ "This workshop offers an incredible chance to explore diverse funding sources for wildfire management, tailored specifically for Wyoming. It encompasses every phase, from pre-planning and prevention to post-fire recovery," Wyoming State Forester Kelly Norris said. In addition to the webinar, the GMO has created the extensive Wildfire Recovery Resources List. “Nearly all of Wyoming's economy is derived from our natural resources. The conversion of native grasslands and woodlands through invasive species is a massive threat to all we hold dear and to our basic economic infrastructure,” Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust Executive Director Bob Budd said. “Annual grasses, encroaching conifers, and other structural changes to the landscape create a fire risk that is unparalleled in our history, and if we don't address these changes aggressively, we will inherit a fire-dominated landscape whose costs dwarf the funding it takes to prevent this disaster.” Register here for the GMO’s free 90-minute Wildfire Recovery Webinar to be held October 8.
