In August 2019, mom-of-seven Ruby Johnson was driving her eldest child from their home outside Chicago to Colorado, where her daughter Piper would begin her freshman year of college. Suddenly, Piper wasn’t feeling well and started coughing. Within 24 hours, Piper was in the intensive-care unit of a Colorado hospital with a mysterious lung illness.

Now PAVe Illinois Advocate Ruby Johnson is on a mission to ensure that no mother has to experience her family’s terrifying medical ordeal. Hear Ruby’s story and how she is fighting back on today’s episode.
