We’re in the fight of our lives right now

Hi John,

I just reread the Declaration of Independence this morning and, wow, do the challenges faced by our country’s founding fathers still resonate today.

Militarized police and the national guard deployed to cities in response to protests decrying the murder of Black Americans, an inept government that fails to protect people from a global pandemic, and the assumption that the justice system exists to execute Trump’s will -- all of these abuses remind us of what our country’s founders were fighting against 244 years ago.

We’re in the fight of our lives right now. The November election will make or break the future of our country. No matter where you live, you can make it easier for a swing state voter to cast their ballot safely in 2020. Donate now to make a difference and expand voting at home.

The United States is still a work in progress. We must continue fighting inequality and oppression in all its forms, and part of that fight is defeating Trump in November.

He’s doing everything in his power to stop our democratic process. Degrading our elections, cheering on judges who make it harder for Americans to vote, and creating an army of GOP supporters to stand “guard” at the polls on Election Day.

Trump is an authoritarian and this November is our chance to turn the page and remove him from office.

Do what you can right now to make voting safe and accessible in 2020. We’re sending mail-in ballot applications directly to voters in swing states. Your contribution means people will be able to cast their ballot against Trump. Your grassroots donation will make a difference.

The Fourth of July is a milestone that we can use to reflect on the potential of our country. Thank you for being in this fight.

Best,
Suzy

P.S. Take a few minutes today to read the Declaration of Independence. We can likely all recite the classic passage but the meat of the document is enlightening at this point in our nation’s history.

------------
Vote From Home 2020 is a grassroots movement that's making vote by mail more accessible. With a $25 donation, we'll send vote by mail applications to 20 voters. COVID-19 has brought America to a halt, and with it almost all in-person voter mobilization efforts. While volunteers can’t get on buses to swing states or go door-to-door right now, there is a huge opportunity for progressives, especially in solidly blue states, to get out the vote where it counts. By sending vote by mail ballots to targeted states and following up with text and calls to voters, we can ensure the 2020 general election is safe and accessible. Please forward this email if you know someone who may be interested. Our average gift is just under $25 so consider donating that today to support voting rights.
