Four more years of Trump and the Republicans setting us back decades on climate. Or a Joe Biden administration ready to fight from day one for environmental justice and a green energy economy that moves us forward with good-paying union jobs.
That’s why I’m proud to be the Co-Chair of the Climate Advisory Committee for Vice President Joe Biden. And I want you to join me by pledging your vote for Joe and for climate action in the November election.
The big lie Republicans have told us for decades is that no matter what happens,
it’s
all on you. If you start a business and a pandemic hits —
you should have had a backup plan. Lost your job and then got sick? Sorry about
your luck. When it comes to environmental justice, the lie is this: To support the economy, polluting corporations and greedy CEOs should be allowed to poison our land and destroy our environment.
We know this is a lie. We can build an equitable, green economy that creates millions of union jobs that help us recover from this recession, address the climate crisis, and provide clean air and water for everyone.
We’re already seeing the devastating effects of toxic corporate greed highlighted and increased due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with people of color bearing the brunt of the fallout. Right now, there are areas in our country, predominantly Black communities, that do not have clean water such as Denmark, South Carolina or Flint, Michigan.
If we stay silent, do nothing, and continue with four more years of Republican rollbacks, we guarantee a more polluted and unjust country for ourselves, our children, and future generations. We must elect a president who will take immediate action.
