Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a powerful and exceedingly important, Churchillian speech at the UN today. This was the all-encompassing speech, that “told it like it is,” and that everyone needed to hear. The Prime Minister made the truth crystal clear, and thoroughly and effectively debunked the false, despicable, ugly, Jew-hating propaganda lies that Israel and Jews are committing genocide; starving the Hamas-loving Gazan Arabs; “occupying” the Jewish people’s lawful lands; and have no right to a Jewish State on the historic Jewish heartlands. These Arab-Islamist Jew-hating lies are reminiscent of the blood libels in the Middle Ages that absurdly and falsely accused Jews of murdering Christian children to use their blood to make matzos, and poisoning the wells to massacre European Christians. It’s truly insane that those egregious lies were actually believed then. And it’s just insane that the egregious, grotesque lies of genocide, starvation and “occupation” are believed today.
It was also very important that Netanyahu made clear, in a comprehensive manner, that the threat is much larger than the fact that Islamist-Arab Hamas is an organization of subhuman monsters. Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Authority leaders, and the Palestinian Arabs are not peace-seeking moderates, but are also monsters who pay Arabs lifetime pensions to murder Jews: the more Jews an Arab murders, the higher his pension is. Furthermore, Netanyahu explained, the Palestinian Authority uses the same school textbooks as Hamas, which teach Arab children to hate and murder Jews; name streets, schools, children’s camps and sports tournaments after Arab Jew-killers; and praised and celebrated and participated in the unspeakable, barbaric atrocities of October 7 in which 1,200 women, men, and children were murdered, raped, tortured, beheaded, and burned alive. The Palestinian Arabs handed out candy and danced on their rooftops, with bloodcurdling joy at the mass murder of innocent Jews.
Netanyahu also pledged to never stop working to release all of the hostages still remaining in horrific conditions in Gaza.
Netanyahu also condemned the perverse insanity of even dreaming of giving Jewish land and a state to these Arab-Islamist terrorists. Giving up land to them would only reward Arab terrorism and send a message that terrorism pays major dividends. And the result will only be more Arab terrorism. Netanyahu affirmed that 90% of the Knesset and Israeli people oppose a Palestinian Arab terror state, and Israel will not allow a Palestinian Arab terror state because such a state would endanger Israel’s very existence.
Prime Minister Netanyahu also made it clear that the Arab-Islamist war is not only against the Jewish State of Israel, but is also against the United States and the West. Israel’s Prime Minister reminded the world that these Islamist terrorist regimes repeatedly proclaim in their rallies and speeches not only “Death to Israel,” but “Death to America and the West.” The Islamists also proclaim that first they’ll destroy the Saturday People (Jews) and next they’ll kill all the Sunday People (Christians).
Netanyahu severely chastised many countries for weakly buckling under the threats of Arab jihadists, refusing to fight back and instead appeasing the jihadists. As the great classicist and historian Professor Donald Kagan of Yale detailed in his major work, On the Origins of War: And the Preservation of Peace, appeasement always fails. And as Winston Churchill pronounced, “Those who appease the crocodile will simply be eaten last.”
Netanyahu also reminded the world of the extraordinary, almost miraculous results of Israel’s war that massively degraded not only the Hamas terrorists, but also Hezbollah, Iran and the Houthis. Thankfully, the Prime Minister promised that Israel will not end the war until Hamas is eliminated as a threat —and noted that this complete victory is near.
This magnificent, important speech was Netanyahu at his best. He made it clear that the danger of Arab Islamist jihadist terrorism comes not only from evil monsters like Hamas, but also from many other monsters in suits whom the world has whitewashed, especially Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority. And Israel’s Prime Minister promised that because of Israel’s war against Arab terrorists, the future of the Mideast is bright with peace and prosperity for all.
