Democrats say they’re “defending democracy”—apparently by running it over with a car.

Democracy, Democrat-Style: Intimidate, Suppress, Attack
|
|
Signature gathering in Washington has gone from civic duty to contact sport—and the Left is cheering from the sidelines. In Tacoma, a college-aged agitator stole petitions, tore up signature sheets, and then hit a bystander with her car while fleeing the scene. As police investigated, another vandal showed up to smash signs and petitions. Arrest made, damage done.
These aren’t isolated outbursts. Just days earlier, a Bonney Lake Walmart saw a woman claiming to be a priest berate a signature gatherer with insults like “inbred hillbilly” and “pervert.” That same worker had her petitions stolen the day before. Add in online posts flagging petition locations for mobs to swarm, and it’s clear: this is organized harassment, not coincidence.
The targets? Initiatives restoring parental rights and keeping biological boys out of girls’ sports. Instead of debating the policies, activists are ripping, shouting, stealing—and now, running people over. Let’s Go Washington says Democrats at every level—Gov. Bob Ferguson, AG Nick Brown, and Secretary of State Steve Hobbs—have done nothing to stop it. Not one Democrat has condemned the violence.
And where’s the media? Practically mute. If this were right-wing activists attacking progressive petitions, it would be front-page news. But because the violence serves the Left’s agenda, it’s brushed off as a non-story.
So here we are: Democrats lecture endlessly about “protecting democracy,” yet their allies are literally destroying petitions and assaulting citizens to keep voters from having a say. If one side’s idea of “democracy” is running over petition-gatherers with a car, Washington has a much bigger problem than ballot initiatives. Read more at Seattle Red.

Math Is Hard—Especially for Democrats
|
|
Only Democrats could misplace over $30 million and brush it off as a “timing issue.” The King County Regional Homelessness Authority’s books were so off that auditors flagged massive misstatements—$37 million here, $17 million there—like Monopoly money scattered across the balance sheet.
The agency, which spent nearly $200 million last year, admitted it didn’t bother dedicating enough time or resources to review its own financials before sending them off to the State Auditor. Translation: sloppy bookkeeping on a massive scale. Their excuse? “Manual reconciliation” and “human error.” That’s bureaucrat-speak for “we can’t count, but don’t worry, we fixed it after the fact.”
And here’s the kicker: while the numbers were eventually corrected, the same Democrats who keep insisting they need more money for homelessness can’t even keep track of the millions they already have. King County taxpayers are footing the bill for chaos, and the KCRHA is promising—once again—to “do better next time.”
Meanwhile, they’ve already arranged an interfund loan with King County to cover cash flow problems. So yes, Democrats are throwing money around faster than they can count it, and then borrowing even more when the books don’t balance. If this is their idea of “accountability,” no wonder homelessness keeps getting worse. Read more at Center Square.

Blowing Smoke on “Clean Energy”
|
|
Democrats love to preach about saving the planet, but in Washington, their green agenda is steamrolling property rights, local voices, and common sense. The Horse Heaven Hills wind and solar project—originally greenlit by Jay Inslee—calls for 222 turbines, thousands of acres of solar panels, and massive battery farms stretching across 24 miles of farmland. Sounds “progressive,” right? Unless you’re one of the families stuck living under its shadow.
Locals aren’t buying the sales pitch. Groups like Tri-Cities C.A.R.E.S. and county leaders are fighting back, pointing out the obvious: higher wildfire risk, tanking property values, and a total lack of transparency. Residents don’t even know where the turbines will go—because officials haven’t bothered to tell them. It’s government by mystery, with communities left in the dark while billion-dollar developers chase federal subsidies.
And that’s the real story: this isn’t about clean energy, it’s about cash. With Trump-era deadlines looming for companies to qualify for subsidies, Democrats are rubber-stamping massive projects to keep the money flowing. Public safety? Property rights? Local input? Those don’t make the priority list when there’s a pot of federal gold to grab.
So once again, Washington’s Democrats prove their “climate leadership” is less about protecting the planet and more about bulldozing communities in the name of ideology—and profit. Read more at Seattle Red.
