August and July have been busy months for Team Axne and we wanted to put a monthly newsletter together to keep everybody in the loop. Consider this the first installment of Cindy-Cated News delivered straight to your inbox!

🚘 Traveling Around the District 🚘

Cindy has been traveling throughout the district meeting with voters and hearing about the kitchen table issues that affect them. Here are some of the stops she’s made!

• Attending Iowa’s state fair where she served up some delicious food and saw a familiar face.
• Visiting county fairs throughout the district.
• Throwing out the first pitch at the Iowa Cubs’ “Dog Days of Summer” game.

🏛️ Legislative Update 🏛️

Cindy’s been focused on putting hardworking Iowans first. Several of Cindy’s recent legislative accomplishments include:

• Reducing healthcare costs and maintaining protections for individuals with pre-existing conditions.
• Securing disaster relief funding for struggling communities, including relief for families impacted by flooding and farmers impacted by the trade war.
• Writing the Clean Up Congress Act to prevent retired legislators from becoming lobbyists and ensure Congress doesn’t give itself a raise until the deficit is reduced.

Cindy was endorsed by The League of Conservation Voters Action Fund and is proud to continue fighting against climate change and protecting our environment.

🍾Celebrated Her Anniversary 🍾

Cindy and her husband, John, celebrated their 25th Anniversary together. Congratulations to both of you!

🤝Supporting Legislative Candidates 🤝

Cindy stopped by to encourage supporters who are working to flip Iowa’s 22nd Senate District. We believe in you and are excited by all your engagement! Go flip that seat!

🚨 Top Opponent Endorsed by National Republicans 🚨

Cindy’s former opponent and top challenger, David Young, was endorsed by National Republicans and added to their ‘Young Guns’ list. This means National Republicans are targeting Cindy and Iowa’s Third, and think they can flip the District red. We’re not going to let that happen!

As you probably know by now, Cindy loves animals! Here are a few of her favorites from the trail:
