Oklahoma,

With 5 days to go, and almost $1 trillion in liberal wish list demands, Democrats are hurdling towards a government shutdown. While Senate Republicans have put forward a bipartisan plan to fund the government with a clean 7-week extension, Democrats are holding government funding hostage over their unserious plan full of left-wing partisan priorities.

What does this mean? We're once again staring down the barrel of a Schumer Shutdown over Trump Derangement Syndrome. Meanwhile, the administration and the Senate GOP are determined to keep the wheels turning on President Trump's agenda. We'll return to Washington, D.C., on Monday to hopefully keep the government open for you—the ball is in Democrats’ court.

On Sunday, I attended Charlie Kirk's funeral in Glendale, Arizona. However, I'm not really sure you could call it a funeral; it was a spiritual revival and a celebration of life. Over 200,000 people came to honor Charlie’s memory and commit to carrying on his legacy. It was truly one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. As I’ve said since my friend’s tragic passing two weeks ago, I am going to be so honored to tell my grandkids one day that I knew that man.

Last week, the U.S. Senate unanimously PASSED my bill, the 9-8-8 Lifeline Cybersecurity Responsibility Act, to combat outages and strengthen the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. It is essential we keep the lifeline secure and ensure that those experiencing a mental health crisis have access to the resources and support they need when they need it most. I want to thank U.S. Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) for his partnership on this important bipartisan bill.

Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to speak to the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce for their Washington, D.C. Fly-In. I gave them updates on what's happening on Capitol Hill, permit reform, and, unfortunately, the reality of facing a potential Schumer Shutdown. No one wins in a shutdown, but the ball is in the Democrats' court. It takes 60 votes on any funding bill, and we only have 53 GOP Senators. They have a decision to make: get on board and keep the government open, or shut it down and hurt Americans over their hatred for Donald Trump.

On Tuesday, I spoke to Oklahoma State legislators at the White House during their State Leadership Conference. President Trump loves Oklahoma, and often proudly shares the fact that he won all 77 counties all three times he ran for president. I also made sure that our state legislators had the opportunity to visit with Vice President JD Vance by Air Force 2 later that day. In our meetings, we discussed Oklahoma’s key role in America’s future, unity among state leaders to strengthen our advocacy, and the critical role of local and federal partnerships to fight for the Sooner State.

This weekend was truly something to witness. In addition to the speakers and the ceremony, the praise and worship, spreading of the gospel, and prayer were broadcast to hundreds of millions of people across the globe. On Tuesday, I joined Fox News's Dana Perino on America's Newsroom to unpack Charlie's legacy and to stand by President Trump's designation of Antifa as a terrorist organization—a simple reminder: violence is not free speech.
