friend --
On my first day as President, I will pardon every person imprisoned for a low-level, non-violent marijuana offense and I would high five them on their way out of jail. If you are with me -- add your name here.
Marijuana is still classified as a Schedule I narcotic, putting it in the ranks of heroin. Frankly, the criminalization of it is stupid and racist.
Even though cannabis is now legal for adult use in 11 states and the District of Columbia, there have been hundreds of thousands of Americans incarcerated for it, particularly targeted are people of color. Our criminal justice system is broken.
We need to resolve the ambiguity and legalize marijuana at the federal level. This would improve safety, social equity, and generate tens of billions of dollars in new revenue based on legal cannabis businesses.
Add your name if you support the legalization of marijuana and expunging the federal convictions of all marijuana-related use.
If we legalize cannabis, then we’ll:
- Provide equity for those convicted of marijuana use and possession.
- Provide regulation and oversight of the marijuana industry.
- Generate revenue and reinvest in communities hardest hit by the failed “war on drugs.”
For the sake of equity, justice, and the health of all Americans, marijuana must be legalized federally. Add your name if you agree:
