Over 225,000 people across the country submitted public comments and attended public hearings all with the same message to the EPA: “Do your job and protect us from the hazards of unfettered air pollution.”

Dear Friend,

When Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency announced plans to walk away from its responsibility to do anything about climate change, advocates — including Earthjustice supporters like you — spoke out.

Your Voice Matters
Over 225,000 people across the country submitted public comments and attended public hearings all with the same message to the EPA: “Do your job and protect us from the hazards of unfettered air pollution.” A few days ago, Earthjustice President Abigail Dillen and other environmental advocates delivered those comments directly to the agency: [link removed]

The Trump administration’s proposal to make climate denialism the EPA’s official stance is disastrous and illegal. It would abandon climate progress and undermine the legal backbone that has protected people from carbon pollution from power plants, vehicles, and oil and gas operations.

This proposal sends a clear message to the industries contributing most to climate change: pollute more. But your letters to the EPA send an even louder message: we did not vote for more pollution, and we demand cleaner air.

What Happens Next
Participating in public comment periods is essential to the rulemaking process and can serve as a legal basis for taking the administration to court. The EPA must now review everything that came into the docket and will be making its final proposal by the end of the year on whether to rescind the endangerment finding.

We Will Keep Fighting
Thank you to the thousands of advocates who spoke up during this public comment period. As the Trump administration turns its back on addressing the climate crisis, we will continue to fight alongside you to demand real climate action — not denial: [link removed]
