Today, the Democratic Attorneys General Association announced a legal defense fund to help defend Democratic Attorneys General and their staff who are targeted for political retribution by Donald Trump.

This fund will help cover the costs of the unprecedented retaliatory legal action taken by the Trump administration against AGs who are holding lawbreakers accountable.

Just last Friday, Trump pushed out a sitting US Attorney in Virginia who refused to indict New York AG Tish James following Trump’s baseless attacks. With the appointment of an unqualified Trump loyalist as a replacement, we expect the attacks on AG James to escalate, as well as new politically motivated actions against other AGs.
