Democrat,

You know a campaign is flailing when they turn to dirty tricks to get ahead. Jack for Governor is Exhibit A.

This week, Jack took a page from the MAGA playbook and tried his best to smear Mikie’s military service. At a Jack operative's request, the Trump administration illegally released unredacted service records containing Mikie’s personal information, including her Social Security number.

Jack and the Trump administration are reaching a new level of weaponizing the government and engaging in illegal activity, all to try to get ahead politically. This is an unprecedented and disturbing breach: this file is only supposed to be released to the service member themselves or next of kin.

Jack thinking breaking the law and disparaging veterans is a winning strategy tells you everything you need to know about his character and how he’d govern if elected.

Mikie served the Navy with honor. She will bring that same sense of duty, service, and sacrifice to the office of Governor of New Jersey. Let’s get her elected this November.

— Chairman LeRoy J. Jones, Jr.

Mikie is a proven leader who time and again has delivered on her campaign promises. Just look at her work on lowering the cost of healthcare. She helped pass legislation that capped the price of insulin at $35 a month and limits out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs for seniors to $2,000 annually.

As governor, she is committed to fostering a healthcare system that is both quality and affordable. She will fight to protect New Jerseyans from Trump’s devastating cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act. She will also work to increase transparency in healthcare pricing, crackdown on the middlemen who inflate prescription drug prices, and tackle the challenges we face in maternal health, particularly for Black women.

Mikie understands the top issues facing New Jerseyans and has the plans to address them. Meanwhile, Jack is buddy-buddy with Trump, throwing his full support behind the law that is gutting Medicaid and kicking over 350,000 residents off their insurance.

Last weekend, Mikie and Jack took the debate stage to lay out their vision for the future of our state. Question after question Jack proved how wrong he is for Jersey. Many of his comments were outright shocking, including what Jack had to say about segregation in our public school systems.

Read it for yourself:

We do have the most segregated schools, but I wonder if we would be having this discussion if the performance of schools with predominantly Black student populations were outperforming schools with predominantly white populations…We could integrate the Newark school system tomorrow. And it's not going to improve student performance."

These outrageous, false and, blatantly racist comments are exemplary of what a Ciattarelli administration would be like, one that takes our state backwards.

In an op-ed this week in the New Jersey Globe, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka laid out why Jack is wrong for Jersey.

Black Faith Leaders Unite Against Jack’s Dangerous Rhetoric

“Jack shakes our hands, but he will not honor our lives. He will sit in our meetings, but he will not rebuke white Christian nationalism—because, as he told us, it won’t win him the election. Let’s be honest: he is counting on a part of his base that harbors deep resentment and hatred toward Black people. That is not strategy. That is surrender to racism.”

Forty Black faith leaders came together this week and penned an op-ed to condemn the dangerous rhetoric pushed by Jack at the debate and throughout his campaign.
