John,
We just made ourselves heard loud and clear: VPNs aren’t going anywhere.
On yesterday’s Day of Action, tens of thousands of you mobilized to defend virtual private networks (VPNs)1 from authoritarian crackdowns. We stuffed inboxes, clinched stellar write-ups in TechRadar,2 CNET,3 and more,4 and even got many major VPN companies to join the fray, citing our “proven history of actually moving the needle on digital rights.”2
We’re celebrating our wins, but this isn’t the time to rest, far from it. To stop the troubling rise of VPN bans for good, we have to turn this burst of energy into sustained pressure and grow thousands of action-takers into millions.
Without big funders backing this work, we’re relying on people power to defend VPNs for the long haul. Can you pitch in any amount to keep up this momentum and keep censorship-loving lawmakers’ hands off our VPNs?
DONATE NOW
Your support has sent:
-
19,500+ emails to lawmakers across the globe
-
370+ calls to US representatives

We know there are so many ways to join the fight against authoritarianism and injustice right now. Protecting VPNs means protecting our ability to organize online, defend targeted activists and journalists, read uncensored news, and safeguard our sensitive data— and that protects all of our work.
We’re just $6,000 away from paying off expenses from our Day of Action and funding the next stage of the Defend VPNs campaign. We wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t crucial: will you make a donation and become a VPN defender today?

Thanks for your support, John. We’ll keep you posted with more ways to jump in (check out our urgent actions Signal chat to stay up to date!5) Until then, stay safe and keep fighting the good fight.
Ready to ban the bans,
Lia at ❤️ Fight
