John,

While the Fourth of July marks the independence of America, it’s also a reminder that freedom did not come until decades and even centuries after for Black people, Indigenous people, people of color, and women.

Over 200 years later, there’s still more work to be done to make sure that our government reflects the diversity of its citizens. That’s why we’re working to close the race and age gap in voter participation -- and you can help us, too.

Whether you’re headed to a socially-distant barbecue with friends or family, going to a protest, or even a Zoom celebration, join us this Fourth of July weekend by taking four actions to strengthen our democracy.

1. Help 3 friends register to vote by downloading our new phone wallpaper with a QR code to register voters on-the-go. [[link removed]]

Research shows that the most effective person to help friends and family register to vote is you! Talk to them about why it’s important to vote in every election and offer to help them register to vote. Download our new phone wallpaper and have them scan the QR code to get started.

2. Check your voter registration status. [[link removed]]

We need you to make your voice heard in every election. Make sure you’re registered to vote at your current address. If you’ve moved or changed your name since the last time you voted, you’ll need to update your voter registration. If you need to register to vote, get started here [[link removed]].

3. Advocate for safe and fair elections and sign our safe voting pledge. [[link removed]]

Our current electoral system isn't set up to meet the needs of the moment. That’s why When We All Vote strongly supports expanding vote-by-mail, early in-person voting, and online voter registration for every American. Sign our safe voting pledge to help us fight for safe, fair, and accessible elections.

4. Become a leader in your community and sign up to be a Voting Squad Captain. [[link removed]]

With about four months until Election Day, take the next step and sign up to be a Voting Squad Captain and help your community get registered and ready to vote. You’ll be invited to exclusive trainings and briefings, get access to coaching, tools, and resources, and be part of a nationwide community of highly motivated organizers working to make sure that everyone participates in our democracy.

When we all vote in every election and for every office, we take our power back. Join us this Fourth of July weekend to make sure everyone’s voice is heard at the ballot box come November.
