Hi there,
When Tate first met Jessica, he was just a first grader. She was nervous about her new role as his paraprofessional. He was shy and unsure. But over the years, especially after they became involved in Special Olympics together, something incredible grew between them: a true friendship.
By the time Tate was in 7th grade, he was a Special Olympics athlete who lit up the basketball court, kept Jessica laughing with endless knock-knock jokes, and showed up to lend a hand in Jessica’s garden. With Jessica by his side, Tate found a best friend who will be cheering him on for life. ❤️
At Special Olympics, friendship and belonging are some of the best prizes. That’s why we’re aiming to raise $10,000 by September 30th so more athletes with intellectual disabilities (ID), like Tate, can play with friends who make EVERY game feel like a win. Are you in?

Working with Tate has changed me in a lot more ways than I can list. I can’t imagine my life without him…” – Jessica

A Special Olympics friendship means a million different and wonderful things. It’s the silly pep talk at practice. The arm-wrestling match on the sidelines. The teammate who becomes like family.
It’s the joy of playing, learning from, and just being with others. It’s what your gifts as a Special Olympics supporter make possible. And for Tate, it’s given him the chance to shine brighter on the court and feel more confident off of it.
Help us cross the $10K finish line by September 30! Your gift will help more athletes like Tate form friendships and find connections that turn every sports season into a reason for a high-five! 🙌🙌🙌
