Hi,

On July 4, 1776, the Congress of the United States adopted the Declaration of Independence, forging the birth of a nation and establishing the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

On April 22, 1970, Earth Day was born, echoing that community uprising by calling for environmental justice, protection of our endangered species and clean air and water.

Now, as we recognize Earth Day's 50th year, it is time for a similar revolution: an environmental revolution that ensures we secure and expand protections for air and water quality, aggressively move to conserve and restore our natural lands and immediately and comprehensively address the threat of climate change.

Commit to fight for the planet: Pledge to Vote Earth. <[link removed]>

In 1970 we saw that bold civic activism is necessary to create lasting and important change. And now again, we are calling on everyone to demand an end to environmental injustice and to push for action on climate change in the United States and around the globe.

As we observe our independence and our achievements, let's not forget our civic responsibilities and our collective duty to protect our planet.

Pledge for the planet. Vote Earth. <[link removed]>

Together,

Kathleen Rogers
