John,
Personal medical decisions should always be made between a patient and their doctor—not by politicians. But right now, the Trump administration is pushing reckless, unscientific claims that threaten our health and safety.
Within just the past few days, the Trump administration has:
- Falsely claimed that acetaminophen is dangerous for all pregnant women, and that they should, quote, “tough it out”
- Announced a new “review” of mifepristone, a medication used for abortion and miscarriage care—despite hundreds of medical studies proving it to be safe, effective, and essential
- Spread discredited myths about vaccines, undermining access and public trust
The truth is, every body and pregnancy is different, and pregnancy is far too complex to be governed by politically-motivated blanket statements. When politicians ignore and override science in order to insert themselves into deeply personal decisions, they put lives at risk.
As these federal attacks ramp up, our state and local leaders continue to be more important than ever. They have the power to safeguard reproductive freedom, protect access to healthcare, and keep our communities safe.
If you agree that personal healthcare decisions should remain between patients and doctors, please take a moment to add your name to our statement.
Together, we can push back against political interference in our most personal choices and protect the right to compassionate, evidenced-based care.
In solidarity,
Team Vote Pro-Choice
