Kimmel is back, but many Americans won’t be able to watch. Two companies — Nexstar and Sinclair — have decided not to air Kimmel on local ABC stations they own.

Why, you may ask?

Nexstar, the largest TV broadcaster, is currently seeking Donald Trump’s approval for a $6 billion mega-merger deal. If approved, Nexstar would control TV stations reaching 80% of households — violating the cap set by Congress to protect against monopolies.

Sinclair, the nation’s second-largest broadcaster, is also waiting on Donald Trump’s approval for a broadcast deal and is planning even larger upcoming deals.

These companies may decide that it’s in their best interest to seek regulatory favors from the administration by censoring a critic — but they have to remember that we have anti-corruption laws.

I’m launching an investigation and pressing for answers on potential corruption.

If you’re with me, join our call and add your name to affirm that these media conglomerates should not be able to stifle free speech in exchange for regulatory favors. For everyone who spoke up and said Trump's censorship of Kimmel is wrong, your voice mattered. We need to show that we’re not letting Nexstar or Sinclair off the hook either.

The deals that Nexstar and Sinclair are pushing for need sign off from FCC Chairman Brendan Carr — the guy who got on a podcast last week and told ABC that “we can do this the easy way or the hard way” in response to Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue.

When ABC canceled Kimmel’s show, and Glee! actor Kevin McHale pointed out on Twitter that this move is a part of Project 2025, Chairman Carr responded with a GIF of Jack Nicholson vigorously nodding and smiling.

Seriously?

He also tweeted to applaud Nexstar and Sinclair’s decision to pull Kimmel’s show even after Disney announced it would restore it.

This just looks like corruption in plain sight.

Add your name to join me in calling for accountability on whether Nexstar and Sinclair censored a critical voice of Donald Trump to get favorable treatment from him and FCC Chairman Carr.

I’m going to keep up the fight against the Trump administration’s disturbing efforts to silence free speech — and against corporate media consolidation.

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth
