John,
Andrew Cuomo’s camp has a new strategy to defeat Zohran Mamdani: "You have to frighten people to give them a reason to go to the polls."
That’s what an unnamed adviser close to the disgraced former Governor told New York Magazine last week.1
Another top Cuomo donor said that "if Eric (Adams) gets out, there is going to be a gush of money coming Andrew’s way, $20 million to $30 million in a matter of weeks."
They’re finally saying the quiet part out loud, John.
Their strategy isn’t about policies that will make New York City more safe and more affordable. It’s not about listening to and caring for the millions of struggling working families who call this city home. It’s about courting support from pro-Trump billionaires, sowing fear, and spreading lies.
The attacks against Zohran have already begun. And with just 40 days until the election, we need to brace for them to ramp up even more — just like they’re promising.
Please make a donation today and help WFP continue to mobilize volunteers, talk to voters in New York, and elect Zohran Mamdani as the city’s next Mayor. With early voting starting in just a few weeks, we need to prepare for the onslaught of attacks coming our way.

If these fear-based and manipulative tactics sound like something Donald Trump would employ, that’s no accident.
Like that other famous "Queens boy," Andrew Cuomo built his entire political career through threats and bullying.
In fact, just a few years ago, Cuomo was telling advisors and aides that he wanted to "destroy" the Working Families Party.2
Why?
Because we’ve worked to hold elected officials like him accountable for policies that hurt working class New Yorkers.
Because we’ve spent over two decades trying to push Democrats and Republicans alike — both in New York and across the nation — to embrace a political vision that puts working people over billionaires.
Because we believe power ultimately rests with the people — not the billionaire donor class.
Stoking fear and threatening political opponents? Sounds an awful lot like how the current administration operates. And that’s not the kind of leadership New York City needs — not now, not ever.
Join our efforts to elect Zohran Mamdani as Mayor of New York City by pitching in today. We need all the help we can get to overcome the tidal wave of billionaire donations, attack ads, and fearmongering coming our way over the next 40 days.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
