Donald Trump has called me a lot of names.

 

In 2018, he called me Democrats’ “best election-stealing lawyer.” In 2022, he sued me for racketeering. Earlier this year, he told an audience at the Department of Justice that I was “bad… really bad,” as well as a “radical” who was trying “to turn America into a corrupt, communist, third-world country.”

 

Yet, even with that background, I was surprised that an official White House spokesperson recently told The Guardian newspaper that I was a “crooked hack” and a “disgraceful swamp creature.”

 

It is one thing for Trump to say unhinged things about his political opponents, and I have come to expect his cronies on the right to attack me. But something landed differently when it came from a government employee — someone paid with taxpayer money.

 

To be clear, I wear Trump’s scorn like a badge of honor. I will never back down from telling the truth about him and his attacks on our democracy. I will never stop fighting for free and fair elections in court. I will never give in to the threats, lies, and smears.
