Today is AFSCME’s Lower Health Care Costs Day of Action. We’re making our voices heard in the fight to make health care more affordable for working families.
We need your help. Call your member of Congress now and urge them to stop skyrocketing health care costs, prevent millions of Americans from losing their health insurance, and save public service workers’ jobs.
This year, the yes-men in Congress passed the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill,” throwing working families under the bus to deliver even more tax giveaways to billionaires and wealthy corporations who don’t need another dime.
They failed to extend premium tax credits available through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace. That means millions of families will no longer be able to afford their health insurance and everyone – even those who don’t get insurance through the ACA – will see their premiums spike.
These yes-men also cut billions of dollars in funding for hospitals that serve our most vulnerable communities. This cuts a critical lifeline for millions more and costs AFSCME members who work in these facilities their jobs.
But it’s not too late to stop them.
Whether you’re someone whose health care might be affected, or your job is on the chopping block, Congress needs to hear from you.
