Dear John,
Trump and Republicans’ big, ugly bill gives billionaires nearly $4 trillion in tax cuts while jacking up millions of Americans’ health care costs – or kicking them off coverage entirely.
The bill does not extend Affordable Care Act subsidies, which have been helping working people save big on health coverage for years. Unless Congress acts before January 1, 2026 to extend them, millions of Americans who buy their insurance on Affordable Care Act exchanges will be hit with a devastating double blow: the loss of their subsidies, and simultaneous premium increases of 50% or more.
It’s a key part of Trump and Republicans’ big, ugly bill: handouts for the ultra-wealthy, higher costs and lost coverage for working families. Americans cannot afford soaring health care costs while the cost of living already outpaces wages.
Send a direct message to Congress telling them to extend the ACA premium tax credits — not deepen inequality by putting billionaires over working families.
The consequences are already unfolding. Health insurance companies are requesting premium hikes averaging 20% for 2026, with hundreds of marketplace insurers seeking increases of 20% to 50% or higher. Without the ACA subsidies, millions will be unable to pay for coverage. Healthier people will drop out, leaving only sicker patients in the system — which in turn will further drive up costs for everyone else.
It’s a lose-lose for everyone besides Trump and Republicans’ billionaire bankrollers.
Tell Congress to extend the Affordable Care Act premium tax credits now, and to protect these subsidies in the future.
Thank you for standing up for the healthcare benefits of millions of people.
