WATCH: Ronald Reagan & David McCullough Reflect on The Spirit of America

As both tempers and temperatures continue to rise across the United States this July, a special Independence Day episode of “American Endurance” ponders the miraculous founding of our nation.

America’s not a perfect country because it’s always been full of imperfect people.

But rarely, if ever, has another country come so far, overcome so much and done as many wonderful things as has the United States.

Focus on the Family’s The Daily Citizen would like to wish you and your loved ones a wonderful and safe July 4th holiday!

Three Hundred Planned Parenthood Employees Admit Margaret Sanger was ‘Racist’
Three Hundred Planned Parenthood Employees Admit Margaret Sanger was ‘Racist’
By: Brittany Raymer

In an open letter, more than 300 Planned Parenthood employees admitted that “Planned Parenthood was founded by a racist, white woman,” i.e., Margaret Sanger. It was a shocking admission, but one that may not go far enough.

Planned Parenthood is incredibly protective of the legacy of Margaret Sanger, the woman who founded the organization more than 100 years ago in 1916. The abortion business describes Sanger in an article as, “a woman of heroic accomplishments, and like all heroes, she was also complex and imperfect.”

That’s a bit of an understatement.

cnns Chris Cuomo
CNN’s Chris Cuomo Says America Doesn’t Need God. Here’s Why He’s Wrong.
By: Zachary Mettler

On his Monday night show, CNN’s Chris Cuomo told the American people that to heal our nation, we don’t need God.

“If you believe in one another and if you do the right thing for yourself and your community, things will get better in this country,” Cuomo stated. “You don’t need help from above, it’s within us.”

Whether he realized it or not, Cuomo’s statement was clear secular humanism, which is the idea that human beings don’t need God but rather can improve and better the world by themselves. The ideology places prime importance on the goodness and improvement of human beings, rather than fidelity to and hope in a Creator.

A Win for Religious Freedom: SCOTUS Rules State May Not Shut Out Religious Schools from Government Scholarship Program
By: Bruce Hausknecht

In a 5-4 opinion written by Chief Justice John Roberts, the U.S. Supreme Court today ruled that the state of Montana violated the First Amendment’s Free Exercise clause when it excluded religious schools from the reach of a scholarship program for financially underprivileged and disabled children funded with private donations but incentivized by government tax credits.

The decision broke along traditional conservative/liberal ideological lines, with Justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch joining with the Chief Justice, while Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Stephen Breyer dissented.
Coronavirus Second Wave
Don’t Panic. Here’s the Good News the Media Isn’t Telling You About the Coronavirus ‘Second Wave’

By: Zachary Mettler

Once again, for news organizations that want to sell commercials and increase viewership, it seems negative news takes the cake. For the past several weeks, the media has driven panic into the minds of millions of Americans with fear surrounding a coronavirus ‘second wave.’

For example, The San Francisco Chronicle published an article on June 26 titled, “Coronavirus surge brings fear of new shutdown, calls to mask up.” MSNBC recently had on Dr. Howard Koh, a former Obama administration official, who said, “We’re very concerned about the hospitals being overwhelmed in Arizona and Texas and elsewhere.” And The Texas Tribuneran a story on July 1 tilted, “Internal messages reveal crisis at Houston hospitals as coronavirus cases surge.”

If you just listen to the mainstream media, you would think Texas is about to be the coronavirus second wave’s New York City.
