MaineDOT Announces Upcoming Weekend Closure of I-95 Exit 185 in Bangor [ [link removed] ] 09/24/2025 04:15 PM EDT
BANGOR - The Maine Department of Transportation will be closing the I-95 Northbound Exit 185 off ramp to Broadway in Bangor from Friday, October 3 at 8 P.M. to Monday, October 6 at 5 A.M.

A detour will be in place for the duration of the planned weekend closure directing vehicles to Exit 186 Stillwater Ave. Drivers should then follow detour signs directing vehicles down Stillwater Ave to Broadway. Message boards will be in place alerting drivers of the upcoming closure.

This closure is part of an ongoing bridge replacement and highway safety improvement project. This weekend closure is to complete critical interstate and ramp reconstruction in the safest and most expeditious way possible. The work includes increasing the interstate profile by up to 2 feet, realignment of the offramp, repaving, and installing new guardrail.

At the end of the closure period, a new traffic pattern will exist on northbound I-95 moving traffic to the new Broadway bridge and exit 185 configurations.
