Dear John,

Right now, millions of families and individuals are struggling to make ends meet. They’re working multiple jobs with low pay, erratic hours, and no paid time off. They’re raising children and caring for sick family. And they’re students struggling to balance family, work, and college. As a result of discrimination, people of color are most likely to have low-quality jobs where moving up is nearly impossible.

At CLASP, we’re fighting to reduce poverty, improve low-income people’s lives, and tear down systemic barriers for people of color, including immigrants and their families. Since 2016, programs and policies that reduce poverty have faced their greatest threats in the last 50 years. CLASP has fought to defend these supports. At the same time, we continue to advance practical policy solutions for low-income people, while acknowledging the impact of the racial inequities on their lives, and bring what’s working in the states to federal policymakers.

In 2019, CLASP is celebrating its 50th anniversary. As a valued subscriber, you’ll be one of the first to hear about our plans to celebrate this important milestone.

We also invite you to stay connected through social media channels. Please follow us on Twitter (@CLASP_DC) and on Facebook (@CLASP.org) for the latest updates on policy that affects low-income people.

Thank you again for your interest in our work. Your support is crucial to our impact and success, and it means a great deal to us. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of so many people.

Yours,

Olivia Golden
Executive Director
