Hey John,
Are you a student, or do you know a student on a religiously affiliated or otherwise hostile campus?
We have an opportunity for you to contribute to a joint effort between Catholics for Choice, American Society for Emergency Contraception, and Advocates for Youth.
By taking our survey, you will help us better identify the barriers that exist and the best practices for distributing emergency contraception on university campuses.
There’s a lack of research into peer-to-peer resource distribution, particularly on religiously affiliated campuses, where administrations are hostile to reproductive care like emergency contraception.
While 97.33% of secular colleges provide contraception, only 66% of Catholic colleges do so. That leaves students to use their own innovation to fill the gaps and overcome significant barriers to contraception access.
Students know their own campuses best and are experienced in navigating the unique, ever-changing challenges that arise.
We aim to compile these various strategies and create a resource that supports other students facing similar barriers to care and who lack peer-to-peer support.People often overlook the experiences of young people and students, but we know you have the critical knowledge that could mean the difference between not receiving care at all and accessing essential community care and support.
All students deserve stigma-free access to comprehensive contraception, and we appreciate you taking a few minutes to fill out this survey and make this idea a reality.
Thank you so much for your time and knowledge,
Catholics for Choice, American Society for Emergency Contraception, and Advocates for Youth
