Friend -- Earlier this year, ahead of the Wisconsin primary election, the Supreme Court intervened at the eleventh hour to prevent an absentee ballot deadline extension -- even though many voters who requested absentee ballots had not yet received them.

This was the first voting rights case to come before the Supreme Court during the current public health emergency and conservative justices signaled their support for voter suppression. This decision prompted a response from Justice Ginsburg saying that she feared it would result in massive disenfranchisement.

"Ensuring an opportunity for the people... to exercise their votes should be our paramount concern."
-- Justice Ginsburg

With this decision, Chief Justice John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, and the other conservative justices have encouraged partisan politicians to try to tip the scales of this year's elections across the country, positioning conservatives to hold more majorities and manipulate district lines in 2021.

Since this Court ruling, we've watched state after state mishandle elections and refuse to adopt commonsense reforms -- and these efforts are usually led by conservative elected officials who think the Supreme Court will have their back:

-- Tens of thousands of Wisconsin voters braved long lines and risked their health to vote in person after the Supreme Court reversed the absentee ballot deadline extension.

-- Conservative legislators in Ohio needlessly overstepped their secretary of state's plans and set a new election day more than a month earlier than the original adjusted date, leaving the state ill-equipped to manage the influx of mail-in ballots.

-- Georgia's Republican Secretary of State purchased voting machines known to fail -- causing huge lines, long delays, and widespread disenfranchisement.

Thankfully, our plan was built to succeed regardless of reckless Supreme Court rulings that enable voter suppression tactics and undermine our elections. Will you help us keep pushing even harder to make sure everyone can have their voice heard in our democracy?

It's going to take all of us coming together to protect our democracy and hold politicians accountable to ensure we have safe, fair, and accessible elections.

Thanks for being a part of this,
