This year has been filled with uncertainty and surprises seemingly at every corner, but thanks to unwavering support from you during these uncertain times, and the tireless work of many in the movement, we are seeing great strides across the country!

To keep the momentum going, we’ve provided some actions you can take this month to continue to show up in this critical moment. 

Last month, Advancement Project National Office held a virtual Town Hall for Breonna Taylor along with allies and celebrities in the movement, where we launched our petition to #DefundPolice on behalf of hers and the many other Black lives violently taken at the hands of law enforcement.

• Sign our petition to call for the defunding of police here. By defunding, we mean reallocating money used for police departments into education, mental health assistance and resources, affordable housing, and other community needs.

As we persist on our mission to fight for the release of people from jails, prisons and detention centers across the country, it’s crucial that we amplify our call for the reimagining of a #FreeAndSafe society for all.

Allies in the movement and partners to Advancement Project National Office, our friends at Ben & Jerry’s are highlighting the importance of advocating against mass incarceration and assisting us in calling for the immediate release of people from jails. 

• Use this advocacy tool to ensure the freedom and safety of thousands of community members across the country. 

Last, but certainly not least, with school boards in Minneapolis, Seattle, Denver, Milwaukee, Portland, Rochester, and Madison voting to officially terminate contracts with their local police departments over the past few weeks, we see #PoliceFreeSchools IS possible!
