75 years ago, two atomic bombs dropped on August 6th and 9th 1945 by U.S. forces—totally destroying Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and in an instant killing & wounding hundreds of thousands of people.

For more than 70 years since then, the survivors (now known as Hibakusha) have struggled to live on, afflicted by delayed health and environmental effects, and by anxiety about the possible effects of radiation on their children and grandchildren. Never again can we allow such tragedies to be repeated.

Sign the petition: Urge federal lawmakers to pledge nuclear disarmament!

The U.S. federal government must work towards the elimination of all nuclear weapons as we fight for a livable future for all global communities.

The destructive power of existing nuclear weapons, which number well over 10 thousand, amounts to that of tens of thousands of Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs combined. No person or government should be able to erase countless lives at the push of a button.

Join the global push for nuclear disarmament. Sign the petition: Urge U.S. federal lawmakers to pledge their support of the Appeal of the Hibakusha.
