Friend,

Yesterday, Mayor Stoney ordered the immediate removal of all of Richmond's Confederate statues. Our city is no longer the capital of the Confederacy. It is well past time to remove these symbols of racism and hate and chart a more inclusive and just path into the future.

But the Virginia GOP didn't get the memo that this is the United States, not the Confederate States, of America. Check out their tweet:

"Richmond is no longer run by the rule of law - it's devolved into anarchy. Stoney should resign on the grounds that his cowardice during a time that demands leadership proves he's unfit to lead Virginia's capital."

The GOP is realizing what we already knew — Mayor Stoney is the leader Richmond needs to move boldly into the future. While the GOP can’t seem to let go of lost causes, Mayor Stoney is accountable to the people he serves and will continue to fight for One Richmond.

This November, we can keep a for-the-people leader in the Mayor's office and continue fighting for change, but only with your help.

Will you rush a donation immediately to help us prepare for any attacks the GOP throws our way? A donation of just $5 helps us be ready to fight back.

Let's keep fighting,

Team Stoney
