Looking Back: Celebrating Immigrant Heritage and Pride Months

June was the nationwide observance of Immigrant Heritage Month and Pride Month. CLASP joined in to recognize the extraordinary contributions and achievements of immigrants and LGBTQ+ communities throughout our nation’s history. During the month, we featured blogs written by CLASP staff members, posted interviews with young adult partners and community activists, and highlighted key CLASP efforts to uplift and highlight LGBTQ+ and immigrant voices. This week CLASP and the Harvard Law School Labor and Worklife Program released a new toolkit, Protecting Workers through Publicity: Promoting Workplace Law Compliance through Strategic Communication. The toolkit: 

  • Explains why labor enforcement agencies should use media and other means of strategic communication (with recent research about the need for and deterrent impact of such action);
  • Provides guidance for agencies about how to seek media coverage; and
  • Shares insights from agency officials, journalists, and communications experts.
