I’ll cut right to the chase: We’re in the thick of election season in Pennsylvania and Virginia. 

We’re working tirelessly to push back on Republicans’ attempts to redraw maps in states from Texas to Utah. But we can’t lose sight of these critical state-level elections that will have an outsized impact on the future of our democracy. 

-In Pennsylvania, control of the State Supreme Court will determine whether there’s a backstop against attacks on voting rights and egregiously gerrymandered maps. There are three seats at stake on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and the Republican Party has pledged to spend “seven figures” on judicial elections across the country this year — evidence of just how critical these races are.

-In Virginia, we’re fighting to elect Democracy Defenders to the Governor’s Mansion and in the House of Delegates. Ensuring Virginia has pro-democracy champions like Abigail Spanberger at the helm will be crucial in the fight for fair representation in the years ahead.
