A few years ago I attended a reception for newly elected Members in DC. A lobbyist came up to me and said “Well, I guess you’re one of the new Members we’ll never see.” I asked him why. He said it was because I didn’t take direct corporate donations.
Since that day, I’ve said clearly—if groups want to meet with me, they better bring their good ideas, not their checkbooks.
I’ve never been for sale. And my campaign for governor is no different.
I’m not running to be part of the status quo. I’m focused on putting power back where it belongs—with you.
That’s why I have never taken donations from corporations or lobbyists. And that’s why I bring a plan, not an agenda paid for by special interests.
This campaign is powered by real people. And every single donation makes a difference.
If you’re ready for a governor who’s not afraid to take on entrenched power, I’m asking you to chip in right now.
