Ballot initiatives are one of the most powerful tools in our democracy. They ensure voters have a say when extremist politicians side with powerful interests over their constituents.

In Missouri, voters have passed successful ballot initiatives, overturning an abortion ban, expanding Medicaid, increasing the minimum wage, and legalizing marijuana.

With this move, anti-democracy lawmakers are not only rigging maps to hold on to power, they’re making it harder for voters to fight back in the future.

Let’s be clear: Republicans are hell-bent on silencing the voice of the people. If this attempt at voter suppression succeeds in Missouri, Republican-controlled states across the country will follow suit.
