Four seems to be the lucky number in Iowa.
We have FOUR wide open races on the table (Governor, Senate, IA-02, IA-04).
We have FOUR competitive U.S. House districts in play that Democrats could flip.
And so far this year, we’ve had FOUR overperformances by Democrats in special elections.
- In January, Democrats Mike Zimmer and Ritchie Kurtenbach flipped two seats, winning in an upset.
- In March, Democrat Nannette Griffin exceeded expectations in a Trump +27 district.
- In April, Democrat Angel Ramirez overperformed by 26 points and won HD 78 .
- In August, Democrat Catelin Drey flipped a seat in SD-01 — a district Trump won by 11 points in 2024 — and broke the GOP supermajority in the state legislature.
If these special elections tell us one thing, it’s that Democrats are on their way back in Iowa.
These victories from the past few months were earned, not given. If we want to continue the streak and help Democrats win up and down the ballot next fall, we’ve got to put in the time, work, and effort now.
Will you chip in $4 for our 4 special election victories, 4 House districts, and 4 wide open races, $12 for all three, or any other amount to help us invest in our Democratic candidates running in Iowa’s top battleground races?
Thank you for your support.
