Fox News ([link removed]) (9/18/25) reports: "Former Vice President Al Gore accused President Donald Trump in a new interview of launching a 'jihad' against the renewable energy transition. In an interview with Axios, Gore said Trump was more 'loaded for bear this time around' in his opposition to clean energy compared to his first presidential term. He added that outside forces pushing back against Trump have also grown stronger, particularly outside the U.S 'If you look at it on a global basis, we get a distortion field here in the U.S. now with Trump's jihad against the sustainability transition,' Gore said. It's unclear when Gore made the remarks, but Axios published the comments on Wednesday. Gore’s published use of the word 'jihad' comes after Turning Point USA founder and conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated last week. Kirk’s death reignited conversations over the role political rhetoric plays in
violence and motivated calls to 'turn the temperature down' in politics by leaders like House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La."

If only there had been scores of people to tell Nevada that green energy is a scam.

(9/19/25) reports: "Nevada lawmakers set a 100% zero emission energy mandate in motion in 2019 signed by former Democratic Nevada Gov. Gov. Steve Sisolak. Though current Republican Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo has not repealed this aggressive green energy goal, he has moved to boost natural gas in the state. Several solar and green energy groups including Vote Solar and Advance Energy United (AEU) as well as the environmental group Sierra Club — notorious for championing the closure of coal plants — have recently sounded the alarm over climbing energy costs in the state. The Sierra Club, Vote Solar and AEU have all supported green energy transitions in line with Nevada’s goals and are speaking out against the impending demand charge and its potential impact on energy costs. Pushing for an accelerated green energy transition while phasing out reliable energy sources like coal is linked to rising utility costs and reliability issues, several energy experts have previously explained to the DCNF."

Under President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, many federal home-energy tax credits will expire at the end of the year—so people will lose the current tax breaks for adding eco-friendlier appliances or systems like heat pumps and solar panels. Right now, the government offers a range of credits for improving your heating and cooling systems. For instance, you can get a Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit for $600 when you add new natural-gas, propane or oil furnaces, hot-water boilers and air-conditioning units, if they meet certain energy-efficiency standards.If you’re not sure which improvements—if any—to focus on, a home energy audit can help you identify which upgrades to give priority to and which tax credits to claim, says Kim Wolske, a research associate professor at the University of Chicago."

(9/22/25) reports: "A long court battle may be nearing the finish line for an Oakland, California, developer Phil Tagami, who is ready to talk about what he characterizes as a 'last-ditch effort' to delay his controversial bulk marine terminal project as the California Supreme Court decides whether to hear a final appeal. 'That's what's happening right now,' Tagami told Cowboy State Daily, describing the city of Oakland’s opposition to the project and plea to the state’s top court. 'That decision, the court will be deciding before Oct. 1 if they are going to hear it. 'A win for Tagami would mean opening the West Coast terminal to ship coal to Asian markets, which Wyoming thermal coal producers have been working to secure for more than two decades."
