The blood money from illegal wildlife trade, the fourth largest type of crime in the world, fuels further environmental crime, drives corruption and undermines sustainable development and conservation – but it is all too rarely targeted in criminal investigations. Palm oil watchdog’s credibility questioned

A highly critical independent review, conducted after two damning EIA reports, has highlighted significant failings by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil, a watchdog set up to reassure consumers that everyday products with palm oil have been made without causing damage to the environment.
