BREAKING — Trump’s EPA just announced plans to stop requiring coal-burning power plants, oil refineries, steel mills, and other industrial polluters to report the amount of greenhouse gases they emit.

The Trump administration is once ahead burying its head in the sand on climate change. Stopping measuring greenhouse gas emissions doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Add this to all the other harmful anti-environmental attacks from the Trump admin and you get the country’s largest polluters spewing climate-destroying carbon dioxide and methane gas into our air with less accountability and less oversight — and putting all of our health and safety at risk.

There’s a short window before the new change could take effect when the EPA is taking public input. We need the EPA to feel pressure from people ALL over the country NOT to give free rein to polluters — but how much support we can mobilize depends on how much we can raise right now.

If Trump gets away with ending greenhouse gas reporting, not only do we stand to lose a vital source of data that informs federal and global climate policy, but the impacts on our health and environment could be devastating, including:
- More dangerous heatwaves, droughts, floods, and other extreme weather events that threaten lives and communities as climate change worsens and sea levels rise.
- Higher rates of asthma, strokes, heart disease, pregnancy complications, and respiratory diseases from breathing dirtier air.
- Interruptions in our food supply as greenhouse gas-fueled climate change impacts crop yields and raises prices.
The stakes of this moment are sky-high, and we need everyone who cares about people and our planet to join us in defending against these anti-science, harmful, and deeply dangerous/reckless actions by the Trump administration.

Thank you for everything you do for our environment, Friend.
