Postcards to Swing States is an innovative project put together by two activists with Indivisible Chicago. These enterprising activists have selected targeted voters in ten swing states who lean Democratic, but who need an extra "nudge" to actually cast their ballots. Additionally, these activists have selected poll-tested messages that will inspire unlikely voters to cast their ballots, and counter the divisive right-wing messages our opponents push.

In order to participate in Postcards to Swing States, all you have to do is sign up to volunteer. After that, you will be shipped a batch of postcards to start hand-writing messages to voters. Then, you stockpile the postcards, and wait until late October to mail them out. The goal is to send out 13 million postcards to these swing states by Election Day, which could boost turnout by 130,000 voters.

In 2016, Hillary Clinton lost three swing states by less than 70,000 votes—which cost her the election. So yes, 130,000 extra votes really can make all the difference in the world.
