Hi there, James Cromwell is not just a Hollywood legend known for his roles in Babe, American Horror Story, and Jurassic World. He’s also an activist with decades of experience fighting for racial and environmental justice. He was high school friends with a civil rights activist who was murdered during the Freedom Summer -- a radicalizing moment that led James to join the Committee to Defend the Panthers. He lent crucial early support to the movements for environmental justice and animal rights. And he has marched against war for nearly half a century, from Vietnam to Iraq. That’s why I’m so excited that James is now supporting us, in our effort to make Berkeley a truly green, truly compassionate city. And he’ll be joining us on Zoom tomorrow to discuss how you can help us spark political change . We’re making tremendous progress in this campaign, as more people in Berkeley are awakening to the deep injustices in our society. That passion for change will fuel this campaign. But we can’t do it without you. James and I both want to thank you for your support for our work -- and take your questions on what we’ve learned from a half century of struggles for social justice. Please share with your friends, too, and thanks again for your support. Best,
|
