Dear Jack,
As September winds down, there’s plenty of energy and momentum building. With Election Day just over a month away and the upcoming legislative session on the horizon, we have many important updates to share, along with the latest updates from recent committee work.
Early Voting Begins and Election Timeline

Time is running out to register for this year's critical elections! If you are not yet registered to vote, you have until Friday, October 24. Click HERE [[link removed]] to register to vote.
There are three ways you can vote: early by mail, early in person, or on Election Day. You may request a mail-in ballot until Friday, October 24. Your mail-in ballot must be postmarked on or before election day (November 4, 2025) and received by your local registrar by noon on November 7, 2025. You can request an absentee ballot through the Department of Elections website, which you can access HERE [[link removed]] .
In Loudoun, early voting is currently available at the Loudoun County Office of Elections, but it will expand to satellite locations throughout eastern Loudoun County on October 20, 2025. Here is a list of early vote locations opening on October 20:
• Claude Moore Recreation Center - 46105 Loudoun Park Lane, Sterling, 20164
• Dulles South Recreation Center - 24950 Riding Center Drive, Chantilly, 20152
• Carver Senior Center - 200 E Willie Palmer Way, Purcellville, 20132
• Ashburn Recreation and Community Center - 21105 Coopers Hawk Drive, Ashburn, 20147
If you prefer to vote on Election Day, November 4, be sure your voter registration is up to date and that you know your assigned polling location. Click HERE [[link removed]] to find your polling location.
Joint Commission on Health Care ("JCHC") Meeting
At its most recent meeting, the Joint Commission on Health Care examined data on the overall health and well-being of Virginians, with particular attention to the decline in the state’s average life expectancy since 2017. Several factors contribute to this troubling trend, including decreases in adult health care coverage, rising health care costs, increased drug overdose rates, the prevalence of chronic conditions, and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The commission also discussed the ongoing fentanyl crisis and potential policy responses. Ideas included expanding funding for opioid antagonist distribution programs, hiring additional peer recovery specialists, and strengthening support for jail-based mental health initiatives.
The meeting concluded with a discussion of potential study topics for commission staff to pursue at the end of the year. Many of these proposals centered on understanding the effects of HR1 (“One Big Beautiful Bill”) and identifying strategies to improve access to health care. Two of my study proposals were included: examining how shifts in provider participation in health care may affect access, and evaluating oversight of direct primary care providers who operate outside of traditional insurance systems. These conversations will continue into 2026 as we work to better understand these challenges and craft effective policy solutions.

Congratulations to Leesburg Councilman Nick Krukowski for winning the 1st annual Loudoun Dems Chili Cook-Off!
Congratulations to the Loudoun Democrats on their successful county-wide canvass and chili cook-off event! This gathering brought together elected officials and candidates to serve chili, help raise the funds needed for the Loudoun Democrats to print sample ballots, send mailers and postcards, and prepare precincts for the upcoming election. With a strong community of advocates like this, we are ready to push ahead and score wins across Loudoun and Virginia this November!

How My Office Can Help
Navigating state agencies can be confusing and difficult at times. As the delegate for House District 27, I can help you communicate with state agencies such as the Virginia Employment Commission, Departments of Taxation, Social Services, Transportation, and more! I can also submit inquiries with those agencies on your behalf. There are limits to what I can do, however. For example, I am unable to expedite cases or force state agencies to favor your inquiry, provide legal advice or recommend a specific attorney, intervene with judicial issues, overturn decisions, or be involved with matters between private businesses.
Whether you require my office’s assistance, want to bring an issue to my attention, or invite me to a community event, please reach out here: [link removed] [[link removed]]
Alongside constituent services, I can submit drafts for commending and memorial resolutions. If you know of a person or organization in the district that deserves special recognition, please submit a request here: resolution request form. [[link removed]]
If you are happy with the work I am doing, please consider donating to my campaign for re-election using the button below.
