National Level: Ending the Border Crisis

TPPF experts have been busy publishing research and opinion pieces in national news outlets on ways to protect unaccompanied minors caught up in the U.S.-Mexico border crisis.

Following TPPF's recommendations, the Trump Administration announced a new immigrant family detention rule on Wednesday. 🎉

The next day, Ken Cuccinelli, acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and Texas Congressman Roger Williams took the stage at TPPF's headquarters in Austin to discuss solutions to end the border crisis and protect vulnerable minors at the border.

State Level: TX vs. CA on Homelessness

In case you missed it, California Governor Gavin Newsom blamed Texas for California's homelessness crisis. 🤨

TPPF's Chuck DeVore, a former California assemblyman turned Texas resident, set the record straight and defended Texas in his latest Forbes opinion article and on Fox & Friends with Ainsley Earhardt.

DeVore said, "Gavin Newsom is responsible for the policies that have created California’s homeless crisis. What you’re seeing here are the words of a desperate man that we should almost feel sorry for."

Local Level: Parental Rights

There is not a more "local" level than the family unit, and we are working hard to protect parental custody in the court of law and the court of public opinion.

In the last 10 days, we've filed an amicus brief with the Texas Supreme Court on behalf of a father forced to share custody of his daughter with a virtual stranger. And TPPF's Andrew Brown published an opinion piece in The Hill on the needless CPS investigations and violations of parent's constitutional rights.

Andrew writes, "The problem isn’t under-reporting; it’s over-reporting that puts additional strain on a child welfare system that’s already stretched too thin and increases the odds that children in actual danger of harm will fall through the cracks."

Without action, government grows and becomes more intrusive in our lives. Join the fight!
