First anniversary for city's fantastic Green Heart!
Green Heart
Our amazing Green Heart celebrated its first birthday earlier this month (4 September) ????
Thousands of people, both residents and visitors to Nottingham, have walked through the city-centre space in the past 12 months - many using it as a pleasant place to pause with their lunch, a coffee or to meet friends and family.
Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust has recorded a number of new species over this time, including moths, newts, butterflies, dragonflies and bees, while the Green Heart has been nominated for a number of national design awards.

Additional parking for Nottingham’s e-bikes and e-scooters
Lime e-bikes
Nottingham City Council are installing a further 46 new parking racks across the city, which brings the total to 275. Locations for the racks have been prioritised based on areas with a high usage of e-bikes and e-scooters, the current parking arrangements aren’t working and there are good connections with the local transport network. Some of the new parking spot locations include Carrington Street, Victoria Embankment and Arnold Road.

Let's get back to school safely
*As we continue into the new school term, let's keep kids safe. *
Recently all schools in the city had their zigzag no parking lines repainted, as well as hundreds of other schools getting safety improvements [ [link removed] ]including signage, flashing amber warning lights, crossings and 20mph zones.
These improvements are aimed at doing everything we can to keep children safe around their schools - but parents and other road users have a big part to play as well.
* If it's possible for you, *the best way of getting to school is walking, cycling or scooting* - less cars on the roads around schools less busy and a safer place to be for everyone.
* If you can't avoid driving to school,* always drive carefully and park considerately* away from zigzag lines
* *Always turn your engine off* when you’re stopped to avoid exposing children to harmful air pollution. The people inside the car breathe in the most and it causes real damage to your entire body, but especially in children's developing bodies
* When you can, *park further from school and walk* a few minutes to keep the streets around the school safer
