This past week, students across Colorado walked out of their classrooms in solidarity with their peers at Evergreen High School in protest of gun violence after another horrific school shooting in their community. 

We stand with these young leaders: any politician who puts the gun lobby above the lives of more than 40,000 people who die each year from gun violence must answer to these young Coloradans demanding more action.

Democrats have passed common sense laws that help make our communities safer while respecting the rights of law abiding citizens, and we must do everything else we can to keep guns out of schools, including protecting our current gun safety laws. 

BUT…the Republican candidates for governor have a long history of voting against and blocking gun safety laws. At the same time, gun lobbyists are trying to undermine our gun laws through the courts. We can’t let them gain an inch, which is why we’re fighting hard to keep Colorado in Democratic hands.
