John,

It’s been a busy week working on the America First agenda, but I wanted to
take a moment to update you on the important work we are doing to advance our
conservative values.

Minnesota Republicans have been persistently pressing to confirm Daniel Rosen
as our next U.S. Attorney, but top Democrats in the Senate are deliberately
delaying the vote. Rosen isn’t the only one caught in the crossfire: nine other
U.S. attorney nominees are being held up by Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and
Minority Whip Dick Durbin, despite broad, bipartisan support. Democrats claim
this obstruction is payback for when Republicans (rightly) slowed down some
Biden DOJ nominees. That excuse doesn’t cut it, so Senate Republicans changed
the rules this week to break the impasse. While they've been bickering over old
grudges, violent crime is surging, taxpayers are being fleeced by massive fraud
operations, and Minnesotans are left without a permanent top federal
prosecutor. We are hopeful that the rule change will allow Daniel Rosen to be
confirmed soon and start safeguarding the citizens of Minnesota.

The brazen fraud uncovered in Minnesota’s Housing Stabilization Services
program is a shocking example of what happens when Democrats run government
programs with little oversight or accountability. This program was supposed to
help our most vulnerable: seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those
struggling with addiction or mental illness. Instead, Democrat mismanagement
turned it into a pipeline for criminals to allegedly steal reams of taxpayer
dollars. This week, federal prosecutors announced charges against eight
individuals for using fake billing, inflated hours, and sham services to siphon
off millions. In one case, a company called Brilliant Minds Services submitted
$2.3 million in questionable claims in just over two years. While Governor Walz
and state Democrats did nothing, the Trump administration’s federal
investigators stepped in to bring justice and accountability. I’ll continue
working in Congress to ensure that federal tax dollars coming to Minnesota are
being used legitimately to help families in need and not to fund criminal
schemes and Democrat-run waste.

On Friday, House Republicans took action to keep the government open while we
continue the hard work of restoring fiscal sanity in Washington. We passed a
short-term, clean funding bill that prevents a shutdown and protects the real
progress we’ve made on conservative appropriations bills. Unlike the bloated
omnibus bills of the past, this measure simply buys us time until November 21
to finish passing individual spending bills that reflect our America First
priorities. For the first time since 2019, Congress is moving appropriations
bills through regular order. As mentioned in last week’s roundup, three
spending bills have moved to a conference committee to resolve differences
between the House and Senate versions. This regular order is how Congress
should pass bills: with transparency, simplicity, and accountability. Through
steady, responsible leadership, House Republicans are laying the groundwork for
serious reforms that change federal policy priorities and rein in Washington’s
wasteful spending. We’ve done our part; the question is whether Senate
Democrats will join us in the appropriations process or choose shutdown and
dysfunction instead.

A Boston-based federal appeals court has cleared the way for President Trump’s
administration to end Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood and its
affiliates, a historic victory for the pro-life movement. This decision allows
the Trump administration to enforce a key provision of theWorking Families Tax
Cut Act (the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’), that blocks taxpayer dollars from going to
organizations that perform abortions. Planned Parenthood sued to stop the law,
warning that nearly 200 clinics in 24 states could close, but the court sided
with the new law. This fight has been a top priority of mine through myDefund
Planned Parenthood Act to ensure taxpayer dollars never pay for abortions
outside of rare medical exceptions. Instead of funding abortion, we should be
supporting women and families and promoting motherhood. That’s why I’ve
introduced legislation like theMOMS Act to help new mothers and my Protecting
Life and Taxpayers Act to cut off all federal funding to abortion providers. I
applaud President Trump and my fellow House Republicans for delivering this
monumental win for the unborn and for standing up to the radical pro-abortion
lobby to protect life and the values of the American people.

As always, thank you for your continued trust and support. Don’t hesitate to
reach out if you have any questions or need assistance with anything.

With gratitude,
