Dear Friend,

A simple grocery run should not feel burdensome. Filling up your gas tank should not feel like a major sacrifice. These days, having to choose between spending on rent, childcare, or saving for emergency funds is a constant, suffocating stress that is wearing parents and families thin across our nation.

Trump and Republicans in Congress have broken their promise to lower costs. Instead, they’ve put politics and profits over families, slashed Medicaid and health care, and tanked the job market—and families are already paying the price. [1]  It’s time to take action!

On Thursday, September 25th, we’re holding Trump accountable and taking real action to lower costs! Join us: RSVP now for our Community Zoom Meeting on Thursday, September 25th, at 8:30 pm ET/5:30 pm. PT.

Everyday costs for families are skyrocketing, and we all feel it. Tariffs alone are adding an average of $2,400 per year to family expenses, and food prices have risen overall by nearly 20% since Trump took office. [2]  Meanwhile, the Department of Labor recently released statistics showing that the unemployment rate increased to 4.3%, making it the highest it’s ever been since 2021! If that’s not enough, millions of people are losing access to critical programs that help families get by. Republicans in Congress have slashed funding for essential programs like Medicaid, SNAP, childcare, and public education, all to give even more tax cuts to billionaires and terrify hardworking immigrants - people essential to our care workforce, our economy, and our future. [3]

Women, particularly mothers ages 25-44, are being hit the hardest. Since January, over 200,000 women have been pushed out of the workforce. This means that over 200,000 women have lost their health care coverage and the income needed to support their families. Rising costs and policy cuts are forcing us to make impossible choices. “Do I stay employed and struggle to cover the costs of childcare, or stay home to care for my kids and struggle to pay for rent and groceries?” This isn’t normal, and it surely isn’t right. What it feels like is a crisis of economic stability and care. [4]

We are covering all of these issues and taking action together next Thursday, September 25th, during our Community Meeting, and we want you there! Will you join us? RSVP for our Community Zoom Meeting on Thursday, September 25th at 8:30 pm ET/5:30 pm PT.
