Team,
Much of the work of legislating happens in Congressional committees. That's where bills are crafted and where the appropriation of federal funds is hammered out.
When I was first elected to Congress, I knew I wanted to serve on committees where my work would directly serve my constituents. I was appointed to the Energy and Water Appropriations Committee, and today, I'm the committee's senior Democrat.
The work of our committee is critical for our Great Lakes region and for the Heartland as a whole.
In my time on the committee, we've brought home hundreds of millions of dollars in federal investments to our district:
🌽 We've invested in renewable energy programs with proven track records, creating thousands of jobs that cannot be outsourced.
⚙️ We've supported innovation and manufacturing in the industries of the future, ensuring that tomorrow's economy will once again be built right here in Ohio.
💧 And we've done transformative work to restore and protect our Great Lakes ecosystem, which is the lifeblood of communities across the Midwest.
I'm proud of everything we've accomplished so far, friend, and I'll never stop going to work for you.
Onward,
— Marcy
